High school has been called the practice run for real life. QYU highschool ministries are also known as Campus Life. The point is we want to help youth grow a balanced life and help them discover their God-given potential to help prepare them for life. We love youth, we believe in them, and we want to influence their lives for good.
That's why we want to connect with youth all across the Quinte region and seek to offer opportunities to students directly in schools across the area. There are 9 different high school programs in the region at 7 different schools. Depending on the school, we have a meeting once or twice a week. We create safe and inclusive in-school discussion groups which provide the space for teens to safely share opinions about topics, current events, and popular music, grow in their own faith and beliefs, and process their life experiences with each other. But our ministry doesn’t end after school's out. We are front-line, search and rescue, Christian youth workers. We go where youth gather, seek them out, dive into their world and seek to build meaningful, redemptive and helpful relationships. To that end and for teens' sake, we create and run after-school programs and special trips throughout the week and throughout the year that help youth grow in their faith, capabilities, character, and attitude. We get to know their stories, their background, their families. We show them we are people who care, people they can count on, and we help point them in the right direction. |
